3 Surprising Ways to Improve Your Health in 2025

When my physical health is improving, I notice that my mental health, self-esteem, mood, endurance, and overall wellbeing also improves. One way that I am working to improve my health this year is to change my habits. Little changes in habits can add up and contribute to bigger and more noticeable differences. I've actually been working on gradually incorporating these habits for a while but I am working on perfecting them a bit more this year. Below are some ways I improve my health.

Get to bet Earlier
I have been trying to get to bed to start trying to fall asleep around 8:30pm. On days that I work, I work a bit later and try to get to bed around 9:30pm or 10pm at the latest. Getting to bed earlier allows me to wake up earlier and get a bunch of things done and start my day with plenty of time to get done what I want to and need to before my day really gets going. It also helps to make sure I get enough sleep as I am already in the habit of going to bed earlier when those days come up that I need to get an early start.
Get up and Move
Even when I don't quite feel like it, I try to get up and moving around. Every morning I wake up and allow myself to relax by watching the news, having breakfast, getting some homework done, and sometimes reading a book. After that, I usually vacuum, do some yoga, and try to stay somewhat active throughout the day. Rarely do I sit around all day because that drives me crazy and then I begin to feel lazy. In the warmer months, I am very active as I usually walk several miles throughout the week.
Limit Sugary Drinks
I try not too drink too much of anything sugary. Instead, I try to save it for those rare occasions as a treat. This goes for soda, hot chocolate, cider, and anything else like that. Most of the time I try to drink water. Sometimes I drink protein shakes or milk. I find that I enjoy the flavors of sugary drinks more when I don't have them very often. In that sense it is a win/win because it benefits my health to limit my sugary drink intake and they become more enjoyable when I do have them.
